Join our team as our Nursery Manager to lead our Ofsted Outstanding setting in Bracknell.  You will work closely with the Directors and two existing supernumery Deputy Managers and Administrators.  This is an amazing opportunity to work within an existing nursery to shape its provision in 2021 & beyond.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds a full and relevant Level 3 in childcare, with strong evidence of post-qualification study and CPD
  • Has recent experience of being a manager of a good or outstanding setting
  • Has experience of managing a setting through the COVID pandemic
  • Has experience working in an independent nursery
  • Holds the very highest expectations of early years provision and is dynamic & truly passionate to be able to deliver this on a daily basis
  • Relishes real the real autonomy needed, across all business functions, to deliver truly ‘outstanding’ provision for the children, their parents & colleagues alike

Ideally, you will also have:

  • An EYP/EYT or similar
  • Experience of ‘In The Moment Planning’ as a style of practice
  • Experience of Famly
  • Experience working as a manager in an ‘Outstanding’ setting
  • Experience using ITERS/ECERS/SSTEW style audits

The day-day role of a Manager:

We are looking for just the right person, so you’ll need to be:

  • Independent & dynamic – able to run your kitchen using your initiative and time management skills.  It’s your kitchen so you’ll do the washing up! We have a dishwasher but the children are always eating so it is a busy kitchen 😊
  • Good communicator and team player – working as an important part of our team
  • Passionate about preparing fresh, balance and yummy meals and snacks for the children
  • Experienced, having cooked in a school / nursery / nursery / residential home.
  • Experiences with allergy and dietary requirements
  • Able to manage your own budget and stock, ensuring no overspend.
  • Able to oversee all kitchen/catering administration within the nursery

Essential for the role:

  • Previous relevant catering experience in your own kitchen
  • Level 2 or 3 Food Hygiene qualification with knowledge of HACPP & COSHH
  • Experience of catering for individuals with allergies
  • Able to multi-task / keep to a schedule
  • Able to follow recipes with a good command of verbal and written English

Ideally, you would

  • Have experience working in a children’s nursery / school / care home
  • Have an existing online DBS
  • Have experience of cooking with Thermomixes (not essential – we love them)
  • Be able to cover absence for the Afternoon Assistant position from time to time (eg annual leave or sickness)
  • Be available for an immediate start

  • Must be able to distribute warm hugs, as and when required.
  • Must possess the skills required to rapidly count the heads of numerous moving small people. This is of the utmost importance.
  • Must be comfortable entering public places on the way home from work, with unknown substances on their clothing.
  • Must have the ability to pretend to eat playdough creations realistically. This is an essential requirement along with drinking numerous cups of pretend tea.
  • Must have the ability to read a ten-page story, upside down, with at least 4 interruptions per page.
  • Must be prepared to have lots of fun in the workplace. Laughter is something you can expect to engage in for a large part of your working day.
